Ramelton Girls Brigade

Girls’ Brigade Report 2015 - 2016

Ramelton Girls’ Brigade enrolled a total of 43 girls in their company in September and started a very busy year with a trip to Letterkenny Activity Centre where they enjoyed the high ropes and archery. The GB theme for this year was ‘Families’ and scripture lessons, crafts and activities were all planned and organised with this in mind. We had a visit from last summer’s Exodus team to Romania which included some of our Brigader’s. They gave us an account of their travels and mission work last summer.

Caitlin Doherty received a certificate for her photo frame entry to the National Craft and the juniors posted three entries to the Junk Couture completion also.  Arts, crafts, baking, outings and guest speakers were all part of our programme. Our fundraising initiative this was a copper challenge which generated over €160, this was added to by Ramelton Presbyterian church who donated €270 in coppers gathered from their change challenge which brought the total to €430.  Thanks to all who contributed to this.

Parent’s Night was held in March and was well attended by the community. We ended our year with a trip to the W-5 science museum in Belfast, a trip that was enjoyed by the girls, parents and helpers.  If anyone would like to join our team of helpers in September please contact any of the GB leaders.

The Girls’ Brigade Motto is Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.
