Ramelton Sunday School Report 2015-2016

The Annual Prize-giving for the Sunday School was held at the end of September. The Children’s Christmas Party took place in December and the Senior’s went bowling to Arena 7 at the beginning of January.  The main fundraising event this year for the Project was the coin collection which took place in a glass jar in the church vestibule over the winter and spring months.  When counted, the final total of all the coins was €818. Amazing! On Easter Monday again this year we held our Annual Bunny Hop.  A total of 17 teams took place in the treasure hunt around the town and the eventual winner was the team made up of the Carr family of Fanad and the Speers and Kemps. The proceeds of the day also went towards the Youth and Sunday School Project.

On Saturday 23rd April the Presbytery Activity Fun Day took place at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny. This was the second year for the event to be held at Aura and was enjoyed by all who went along. The Presbytery Sunday School Rally was held on Sunday 15th May in Strand Church, Derry, when we will present Ramelton’s contribution of €938 to the Sunday School Project.

Our annual Holiday Bible Club will be held this year from the 6th -10th June. This year the plan is for the Club to be led by some of the Exodus team to Romania members who were also involved in leading the club last year.  We hope that this year again the boys and girls will enter into all the activities of the Club with great enthusiasm.

Our Family Fun Evening and BBQ is due to take place on the Church grounds on Saturday 11th June and our Children’s and Young People’s Service will take place the following day.

The work with our children and young people is important as we seek to point them to Christ and encourage them to accept Him into their young lives as their Lord and Saviour.  We thank God for our encouraging numbers, for the good attendance of the children in general and for the help and assistance provided by the 21 leaders and helpers.  Please continue to remember the work of the Sunday school, and particularly some children who do not attend on a regular basis, in your prayers.
