Ramelton Presbyterian Youth Fellowship

Youth Fellowship Report 2015 - 2016

Youth Fellowship meets every month on Sunday night from 7-9pm. A typical evening involves football or uni-hoc, games/icebreakers, followed by a discussion around the Bible Study, juice/biscuits/crisps. This year we were looking at studies from the Letters from Peter. A lively and good natured discussion is common most nights as we begin to apply what we are learning to life at school and at home. Rev Janice Brown and the Youth Fellowship of the 3 churches of Fanad, Rathmullan and Milford have joined with us on Sunday nights also. Rev Janice has helped us to think through how we can share our faith with a DVD produced by ‘Christians in Sport’ and led us to think through the topic of forgiveness by using the very popular song “Hello”.

At the end of August we completed the Mud run at the Old Foundry outside Letterkenny, followed by pizza. It was very muddy!  In October we went to the PCI MAD weekend in Coleraine. At MAD our YF won a voucher for Clip ‘n Climb Activity Centre in Dundonald. So on the 18th March, the Youth Fellowship group and their friends headed off for the day to Dundonald Ice Bowl, Belfast for ice-skating and the Climbing Walls.  It was a really great day out. There were a few sore arms the next day, though!!

We also encourage our young people to come along to CEF camps, the Donegal Youth Convention (DYC) and to The Edge which meets 1st Saturday of the month in Letterkenny. It's important for our young people to meet with other Christians to hear God's word taught and to enjoy meeting together. We also hope to take part in the Donegal Presbytery Youth Surfing Day in Rossnowlagh in May. We also hope to involve as many youth in helping with our church’s Holiday Bible Club in June.

We are delighted that some of the young people who come along to Youth Fellowship are travelling to Romania this summer as part of their participation in an Exodus Discipleship course.

All young people from secondary school upwards are very welcome to join us. Bring your friends. It’s a good night’s craic!

It’s been a busy year. Thank you to all those who come along and to the parents and others who support us in making Youth Fellowship possible.

Leaders: Paul Stewart (Ramelton), James Rogers (Kilmacrennan), Jonathan Chambers (Stranorlar), Sylvia Speer (Ramelton)

Glory and honour to God who strengthens and provides wisdom.
