PW in Ramelton meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September until March. The ladies from Kilmacrennan Presbyterian join with us. Our meetings consist of Prayer, Praise, Bible reading and short devotional time followed by a Guest Speaker or a programme from the PW Inspirations. The evening concludes with a cup of tea and a “wee chat”. We currently have 25 members and we would encourage more ladies to come along and join with us.
Our meetings provide fellowship and encourage women of all ages to become disciples of Christ as we seek to fulfil the aims of PW.
PW aims to highlight the need for:
- Love and Unity
- Obedience to God
- Christian living and spiritual maturity
- Service using gifts, time and money
- Local and global mission
Annual events include our Christmas Dinner, PW Service, and a summer outing often to a Garden Centre or somewhere of interest followed by shopping. All ladies are encouraged to come along and bring their friends to these events and are always very well supported and enjoyed by all.
Our members visit those who are unable to attend church due to age or infirmity, in their homes or in nursing homes on a regular basis. At Christmas time gifts of plants and shortbread are distributed to senior members of our congregation.
We support Presbyterian Missionaries and Deaconesses through Prayer and financial support. The funds are raised through personal giving using Mission Boxes.
Throughout the year we show God’s love in a practical way by providing tea after funeral services and we raise funds through different activities. At year end funds are distributed to various local charities such as Ramelton Nursing Unit, Sean O’Haire Unit, Ramelton Care of the Aged, Donegal Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society. Each year we choose different charities.
